Welcome to the home for Ultimate Frisbee players in the San Francisco Bay Area.
With the arrival of spring just around the corner, we are excited to announce registrations for two marquee events.
The Youth Division has unveiled its plans for Youth Summer Camp 2010. We're offering 2 sessions in Berkeley and 1 session in Marin County this summer. We also have a 4th session in the works for Palo Alto. Online registrations opened on March 8th. Please visit the Youth Summer Camp 2010 main pages for more information and to register.
The SF Rec League starts its 12th year of play with its annual spring league. Once again, we're offering a Tuesday Mixed League (games begin Tues. 3/16), and a Thursday Mixed League (games begin Thurs. 3/18). Although both leagues already have long wait lists for men, we do have spots available for women on both nights. Please consult this league's main home page for more details.
A huge congratulations is in order for all Huck Cancer Tournament volunteers and participants. We raised over $40,000 for Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF), which is more than double the original goal of $20,000. Even better, the weather broke through and we fielded 8 teams for an absolutely gorgeous, rain-free day of play on March 6th in San Francisco. We're working on posting photos to the tournament web pages as we speak.
Fundraising continues, per LAF custom, for 30 days after the event. Don't want to wait until 2011 to make your tax-deductible contribution? Donate now or anytime before April 5th. We may yet break the $50,000 mark.
Our cup runneth over (get it? - "cup"), so if you're not planning to play any events this spring, we'll have not 1, not 2, but 3 events for you to look forward to:
Both of our winter leagues in San Francisco and in the East Bay finished up play during the last weekend of Feburary / first week of March. We sincerely thank everyone for your participation, as this past winter was a huge landmark for all of us at Bay Area Disc Association. For the first time ever, we combined the operation of multiple leagues under a single name, web site, and registration system, and it all came off without a hitch. Make sure to give your league directors and captains some love for doing what they do, because our vision for Bay Area Disc Association goes nowhere without any of them.
Need help keeping track of it all? Check for updates and announcements on our Leagues Main Page, and make sure you get connected on our Mailing Lists & Facebook page (see below).

Our NEWS list is the largest Ultimate-related list in the country (according to an informal search on Yahoogroups), and we use it as the all-in-one Bay Area news channel for upcoming league registrations, tournament announcements, pick-up games, club team try-outs, and other disc related questions or announcements. As an active player in or near the San Francisco area, you cannot afford to not be on this list!
Our COMMUNITY list is the slightly less moderated, almost-anything-goes channel for local Ultimate players to connect with others. Here, we share news about carpools to tournaments, lost & found, apartments, local bands, gallery openings, and the occasional job posting. This list is also a place to practice the fine art of trash-talking. Posts to this list tend to be more peer-to-peer, by and for Ultimate players only.
This fall, we continue on our ambitious endeavor to consolidate email lists in the area. Please read on to learn more, or if you want to help.
