Welcome to the home for Ultimate Frisbee players in the San Francisco Bay Area.
The Bay Area Disc Association proudly presents the Huck Cancer Ultimate Frisbee Tournament, an event borne out of our community's love for Eric Arons, a long-time player and team captain in our leagues. We're happy to report that Eric is doing very well, in good spirits, and an active participant in the planning of this event, although he is certainly not doing it alone.
The tournament will take place at Crocker Amazon fields in San Francisco on Saturday, March 6, 2010. This event will be a combination all-day hat tournament featuring Mixed Gender play (4:3 or 3:4) and fundraiser in conjunction with the Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF).
Please visit the full tournament web site for more information. Registration opened on Friday January 8th. If you're psyched and ready to play, you may sign up NOW.

Both of our winter leagues got off to a rockin' start, selling out all men's and women's spots within a very short amount of time. Thank you to all for making these leagues such a success!
Play in the SF Winter League continues throughout January and February and concludes with a tournament end-of-season party at the end of February. Keep up with this league's news by visiting Best Perspective, also known as Henrik's blog.
Meanwhile, play in the East Bay Winter League also continues throughout January and February, with playoffs following the regular season. While the league is currently "full," we strongly encourage everyone, especially women, to join the wait list, as spots do open up as the season progresses. Games are scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday nights in Berkeley.
Need help keeping track of it all? Check for updates and announcements on our Leagues Main Page, and make sure you get connected on our Mailing Lists & Facebook page (see below).
Congratulations to Revolver, Jam, Fury, Zeitgeist and Troubled Past who all made the Bay Area proud. Get the story from the UPA.
Bay Area Disc Association's Youth Summer Camp is already gearing up for 2010. We're also hosting some high school team scrimmages and a possible hat tournament between January and March. We'll post more information about these events in January. In the meantime, if you have questions about Youth Division events, please write to youthdirector(at)bayareadiscassociation(dot)org.

Our NEWS list is the largest Ultimate-related list in the country (according to an informal search on Yahoogroups), and we use it as the all-in-one Bay Area news channel for upcoming league registrations, tournament announcements, pick-up games, club team try-outs, and other disc related questions or announcements. As an active player in or near the San Francisco area, you cannot afford to not be on this list!
Our COMMUNITY list is the slightly less moderated, almost-anything-goes channel for local Ultimate players to connect with others. Here, we share news about carpools to tournaments, lost & found, apartments, local bands, gallery openings, and the occasional job posting. This list is also a place to practice the fine art of trash-talking. Posts to this list tend to be more peer-to-peer, by and for Ultimate players only.
This fall, we continue on our ambitious endeavor to consolidate email lists in the area. Please read on to learn more, or if you want to help.
